When it comes to braving the storm, no one does it better than the NFTA. Throughout the authority, many employees worked round the clock, some risking their lives to save others.

This storm was like no other, dumping more than 51 inches of snow; the Buffalo-Niagara International Airport tallied 101.6 inches of snow this season. T​hat's Buffalo's snowiest start to any season by more than a foot in records dating back to 1884.

The previous record snowiest "fall through Dec. 27" start to the season was 88.2 inches in 2000, according to The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, “NOAA.” Here are some pictures documenting the historic storm at the Buffalo Airport.
